Just an English Teacher from the BX…

I’ve been been a teacher in the Bronx for all of 18 years, and every day I wake up still feeling like a new teacher. Like there is still so much to learn, codes left to crack, resources to find, secret hacks to share with my teacher friends and students, professional books to read, students to learn about and learn from, books to fall in love with by myself and with my students, families to support and challenge, experiences to have both in the school, virtually and in the world it self. The list is long, exhausting, infinite but oh so so necessary.

I started this blog today to expand my tribe of people, people who believe like me that this work is both endless, but imperative. If these times have taught us anything, is how much educating our students is an act of love. I need love, all we need is love… our students need love. This is for love.
